One strand consisting of 19 shaped wires or one strand of seven shaped wires (3mm & 4mm styles are 1x7). Compact Strand wire has a greater density through the cross section resulting in greater resistance to stretch and a higher breaking strength than standard 1x19 wire. Used for standing rigging for high-performance yachts and dinghies.
